Aberuthven Nursery

A spacious, purpose-built setting designed to offer children a bright and engaging environment in which to learn and play.

About Our Nursery

Aberuthven Doodlebugs is a spacious, purpose-built setting designed to offer children a bright and engaging environment in which to learn and play. The nursery itself is purpose-built, light-filled, and thoughtfully laid out to create a calm yet stimulating space for children throughout the day.

Located within easy access to the M90 (Glasgow), it provides convenient commuting to and from work and home, making drop-offs and pick-ups simple and stress-free.

The setting also benefits from a generous outdoor garden, giving children plenty of room to explore, play, and enjoy time outside. With dedicated parking available at the front of the nursery, families can enjoy easy and convenient arrivals and departures.

Our Playrooms

Each room is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of children at every stage.

Snugglebug Room & Cuddlebug Room

Our nursery has two dedicated playrooms for babies under two years old, allowing us to create a calm, nurturing environment tailored to each baby's stage of development. Having two baby rooms means we can offer a gentler, softer transition into nursery life for our youngest babies, helping them feel safe, secure, and settled from the very beginning. Each room is thoughtfully laid out to encourage curiosity, comfort, and exploration, with cosy spaces, age appropriate resources, and caring interactions that support early development and emotional wellbeing. The environments are warm, welcoming, and carefully prepared each day to meet the individual needs of every baby in our care.

Chatterbugs Playroom

Our Chatterbugs playroom is designed especially for children aged two to three years old. It is a large, bright, and airy space with direct access to the garden, allowing children to freely enjoy both indoor and outdoor play throughout the day. At this stage, children are becoming increasingly mobile, social, and independent, and the environment is carefully planned to support their growing confidence and curiosity. The room offers a wide variety of engaging experiences and resources that encourage exploration, interaction, creativity, and active play. With plenty of space to move around, children can play comfortably alongside their friends while developing independence through everyday experiences and making their own choices during play.

Jitterbugs Pre-School Playroom

Our Preschool Room is designed for children aged three to five years and is a busy, engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, investigate, create, and build confidence through play and meaningful experiences. Our experienced staff support children's individual learning and development by following the Curriculum for Excellence, helping children develop important skills for life and learning. We work in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council and are proud to offer funded Early Learning and Childcare places.

Funded Childcare

Helping families make the most of funded Early Learning and Childcare.

Funded Early Learning and Childcare

Perth and Kinross Council funds eligible children to receive up to 1,140 hours of free Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) each year. This entitlement is available to all 3 and 4 year olds, as well as eligible 2 year olds through the Strong Starts programme.

The funded hours can be accessed through local authority nurseries, partner providers, and registered childminders who meet the Scottish Government's National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare. Families may be able to access their funded hours across more than one setting, providing flexibility to meet individual childcare needs.

At our nursery, we are proud to work in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council to offer funded places, providing high quality early learning experiences that support children's development, wellbeing, and readiness for school.

To find out whether your child is eligible or to discuss funded places, please get in touch and our team will be happy to help.
