About Our Nursery

Doodlebugs Bridge of Earn is a beautiful, character-filled former church manse, set within extensive mature gardens and surrounded by trees, creating a truly special and welcoming environment for children. Located in the village of Bridge of Earn, the setting combines traditional charm with a peaceful, spacious outdoor area that allows children plenty of room to explore, play, and enjoy nature throughout the day.

The nursery also benefits from excellent transport links, with ease of access to the M90 (Edinburgh). With convenient on-site parking at the front of the building, drop-offs and pick-ups are simple.

The combination of historic character, generous outdoor space, and practical accessibility makes Bridge of Earn a wonderful choice, adjacent to Perth but within a rural atmosphere. A welcoming environment where children can feel safe and supported, with each day structured around a balance of play, routine, and rich learning experiences.

Bumblebees Baby Room

Our baby room at Bridge of Earn provides a calm, caring, and homely environment for our youngest children under two years old. We understand how important those first experiences away from home can be, so the space has been thoughtfully created to help babies feel safe, secure, and emotionally supported as they settle into nursery life. The room is filled with inviting resources and cosy areas that encourage sensory exploration, early communication, and curiosity, while our nurturing staff build strong relationships with both babies and families to ensure every child feels valued and cared for.

Ladybirds Toddler Room

Our toddler room is a lively and welcoming environment for children aged two to three years old, where learning happens naturally through play, movement, and exploration. With regular access to outdoor play, children can enjoy a balance of energetic activity and quieter moments throughout the day. At this stage, children are developing their confidence, friendships, and communication skills, and our environment is designed to support this growing independence. A wide range of experiences encourages creativity, problem solving, imagination, and active learning in a fun and stimulating space.

Butterflies Pre-School Room

The preschool room at Bridge of Earn supports children as they prepare for their transition to school, offering a rich learning environment for children aged three to five years old. Through play based experiences, children are encouraged to become confident, capable, and independent learners while developing important social, emotional, and early educational skills. Our staff follow the principles of Curriculum for Excellence to provide meaningful learning opportunities tailored to each child's interests and stage of development. We work closely with Perth and Kinross Council and offer funded Early Learning and Childcare places through the local authority.

Funded Childcare

Helping families make the most of funded Early Learning and Childcare.

Funded Early Learning and Childcare

Perth and Kinross Council funds eligible children to receive up to 1,140 hours of free Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) each year. This entitlement is available to all 3 and 4 year olds, as well as eligible 2 year olds through the Strong Starts programme.

The funded hours can be accessed through local authority nurseries, partner providers, and registered childminders who meet the Scottish Government's National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare. Families may be able to access their funded hours across more than one setting, providing flexibility to meet individual childcare needs.

At our nursery, we are proud to work in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council to offer funded places, providing high quality early learning experiences that support children's development, wellbeing, and readiness for school.

To find out whether your child is eligible or to discuss funded places, please get in touch and our team will be happy to help.
